God almighty says: “And shake the trunk of the palm tree towards thee, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee” Mary, Verse 25-26
There is great indication from the foregoing to the valuable benefits and wise secrets in such tree that makes it the greatest tree.

The messenger of God “God’s peace & blessings be upon him” said “who ever had seven dates in the morning will not be affected during this day by poison nor magic” from the tradition of the prophet narrated by Saad in Bokhary Authentic volume 7, page 179.

Dates are an important traditional erop in Arabia and North Africa west to Morocco.
In Islamic countries dates and milk are a traditional first meal when the sun sets during Ramadan month.
Dates (especially Mejdool) are also cultivated in southern California in the United States and Palestine.
Dates have been and still an important part of Arab heritage.

The date palm is believed to have originated around the Arab gulf, and has been cultivated in ancient times from nesopotamia to prehistoric  Egypt, possibly as early as 6000 BC. There is archeological evidence of cultivation in castern Arabia in 4000 BC.
In later times, Arabs spread dates around northern Africa and into Spain, and dates were introduced into California by Spaniards in 1765, around mission san Ignacio.
